Winning Everyone: Running and Finishing the Excellence Mile! - Part 1 of 2

Excellent post, Daniel! When I was young, I would attend music competitions. I remember reminding myself that I was only competing against myself - trying to do the best I could do. That reminder served me well.

I have moved from the state of being fixated in wanting to win to one that involves focusing more on the journey. Life is a journey and not a race. You are right to say that it is not so much about competing against others. It is more about overcoming one's own shortcomings and weaknesses.

    Heya guys!

    Thanks for commenting. :)

@Matthew: It's like your first comment here dude! Do wanna see you here more often!

@Renae: Wow! You must be a wonderful singer or great in a handful of instruments!

@Evelyn: That's right. It's a journey that we all walk in. I'm sure there is one of the 6 character traits (portrayed as competition runners here) in all of us, though when we look back onto our own lane, it's us (like you mentioned - our shortcomings and weaknesses) that we are up against. :D

    Thanks a gazillion!

We all have internal blocks that we need to overcome in every race. There are times that I get so caught up in these blocks that I forget to just run the race. The race is half the fun. If I can enjoy that I'm in the competition then the blocks are just obstacles that can give me an advantage.

    Hey Karl!

Great having you here. Yeps I agree with you to about enjoying the races we have in our lives!

The blocks in our lives can be turned into our advantages by giving us a deeper motivation to fight against them and overcome those setbacks and weaknesses that will only make us stronger. Is that what you were implying? ;)

    Daniel -

Hey man you have grown beyond your age. How stupid I was at your age?
You are making me repugnant and proud at the same time. Repugnant for my youth and proud for yours. You have inspired me to in the right lane of the race track.

    Shilpan! Hey!

That's a huge compliment. I'd gladly take it. You've just made my day that encouragement in the comment. :)

I'd say that it is the people that we follow and learn from that made us who we are today. I'm fortunate to be exposed to great personalities since 5 years ago, and never looked back from then.

You too have a powerful story and life now that I'm sure many would like to emulate the successes you have today. That's something to look forward to!

Thanks again for your comment Shilpan!
