Winning Everyone: The Whole Education System Was Invented To Meet The Needs Of Industrialization.

The sad thing is they don't really acknowledge that in public school systems...

You have a point there Sprout. Yet again, it can be a double edged sword in a way.

Apart from looking at it as being pawns in the education system, one too can look in a perspective that says that they would love to succeed in becoming a highly valued careerist / employee and thus their education and academic levels would be pushed to match the ever growing needs of the industries they choose to be in. :)

It's important that we equip our children with thinking, creativity, communicating and basic life survival skills. Academic results is just one measure alone and as is implied in this post, may not be the best since it is outdated and not flexible to cope with the demands of the future.

I've realized long time ago that knowledge gained via studying for exams do not equate to wisdom. While it is important to do one's best in exams, scores attained do not count towards having the depth of insight.

Heya Evelyn! You are right on too with your point mentioned. Academic results may help only if the person wants to be involved in his work that he had decided to venture into, and that what he had learned would be valuable and relevant only for a probable lesser than a decade with more techniques constantly being thought of and improved on daily.

However, there are too a need of workers to further push the ideas of inventors that are of a massive scale into reality with the methods taught and learned in school - especially during post secondary level education.

Not all is wasted if the person involved had decided his field of work early on in his own academic life.
